In its 12th year, the game features the top high school football players from around the country and boasts such distinguished alumni as Adrian Peterson, Mark Sanchez and C.J. Spiller, just to name a few.

My job was to document a lot of the activities involved in the Army’s outreach effort off the field, but I did get a chance to shoot the first half of the football game and I also spent half a day with the marching band while it practiced. What I miss most from my days as a photojournalist is shooting sports. I’m a little rusty, but I got a couple photos I thought were worth sharing.

THe marching band was also fun to shoot. I love shooting musicians and their instruments, and the weather and light was glorious the day I was out there.

The first time someone hired me to shoot their wedding at Fort Knox, I was skeptical, to say the least, about how the photos would turn out. However, after shooting several weddings there over the years, I must say that it is a great place for a wedding, with the historic Post Chapel and the banquet facilities close by. Here are some shots from a November 2012 wedding I shot on post. I hope to post some older photos soon of past weddings, in case local brides are considering the post as a possibility.

So I am updating this site for the first time in five years. It’s going to be a work in progress. When I first created a homepage I was just learning about web design and the standard was still to have a static page.

In the intervening years, WordPress has really come into its own, especially as a content management system. I’ve used it for several years at my day job and on other side projects. But with transitioning to the platform for my homepage, I am basically starting new. When it’s finished, I think it will serve me much better than the old site.

It’s just a question of when I get around to wrapping this beast up.
